This Saturday was transfers.  Elder Diehl got a call at about 9:30PM and was told he is getting transferred.  he left to a place called La Puente.   I had no idea who my new companion was going to be.  He was supposed to call on Saturday night but he didn't so I couldn't sleep very well thinking about it.  Sunday after church I got a call from the assistants to the president and they said, "Elder Bradford, after much prayer and consideration you have been assigned as District Leader of the Walnut Creek District.  Elder Granado will be your companion."   Haha.  I was totally shocked, it was crazy.  So I have replaced Elder Diehl as District Leader.  I feel extremely under qualified.  I don't feel like I can instruct missionaries that have been out longer than me, so I am scared.  My first district meeting will be on Thursday about "patience".  It's going to be interesting.  Elder Granado is a short spaniard from San Antonio, TX.  He is really funny and he is a great ukulelist.  So I am pretty pumped for the next six weeks.

Also, I crashed on my bicycle once again, but this time it was a vehicles fault.  They pulled out right in front of me so I had to swerve and I fell off.  I landed directly on my bad shoulder again, so I was in a serious amount of pain for a little bit.  I am a little better now, but I just can't move my shoulder.  I have to go to the doctor for an xray soon.  Wish me luck!:)

My new companion.  We are physically opposite.

Last night we met this lady and she said she was raised in the church but when she was 16 something happened and she thought God didn't care about her.   She didn't say what happened, but she was very emotional about it.   She kept yelling "where was God that night?"  "He wasn't there and I hate him for that."  Stuff like that, so we explained to her that God puts us through trials and things to mold us and shape us into the people that he wants us to become.  She was very distraught at this time and we offered to give her a priesthood blessing.  She accepted and asked if I would give the blessing.  It was one of the most powerful things I've ever been a part of, I could feel God's presence there.  It was awesome.  Afterwards, she sat there and slowly her tears dried and she said "I feel peaceful."  We asked her to say a prayer.  She hadn't prayed for 30+ years and she did.  She said she felt like her Heavenly Father was right there with us listening.  It was extremely powerful.  It was very humbling to see God work so swiftly and meaningfully in someone's life like that.  She wants to have us over again ASAP, she says.  Last night was one of the greatest experiences I've been a part of.

Have you heard of Baloot?   The egg that has a chicken or a duck already formed inside.  We eat a Filipinos home and they serve Baloot.  Here is a picture.  It's good.  It tastes like egg drop soup from Lucky 5.

Bridget asked "Is being a Missionary a lot different than you thought it would be?"   Justin's response:  "Yeah, It's fun!  I thought it would be boring.   I'm tired always and my feet hang off the bed.  Like a foot off the bed, no pun intended.

On June 16th the Anaheim Angles are having a mormon night.  We don't get to go though because it is out of our mission.

So there are lot of Mexican people down here.  We are trying to serve people to build trust so every time we ask the Mexicans if we can help they always say "No habla English"  Well, you know how I took all that Spanish in high school and I can speak pretty good?  When they say that I say the exact same thing in Spanish to them and they get this shocked look on their face and usually start speaking English.  It is pretty funny.

We met a man who owned his own business and is very successful and was all normal and he said he would like to have us come over and teach him.  We were excited.  When we got to his house and started to teach him he stopped us and started telling us about how the aliens live among us already and are going to send for more aliens and that we don't need to really worry about religion because the aliens are going to take over our souls.  Not as normal as we thought.

Justin and the Mega lemon

This week we ran into the mysterious fruit known as MEGA LEMON.  I don't know if it is really was a huge lemon, but it had the exact same texture, look, and taste as a normal sized lemon.  It literally blew my mind.  We found it in the gutter in the middle of nowhere.  There was not a tree that bore the same fruit in sight.   The amount of joy that MEGA LEMON brought me when we found it was immense.  To this day, I am convinced it is an urban legend.  I don't think it really happened

.  I'm pretty sure that MEGA LEMON is comparable to UFO's, Bigfoot, or the Lochness Monster.  Also, Elder Diehl bent his rim and I tried to bend it back but I couldn't.
