Hello Friends, :) My week was POWERFUL.
We were able to have 16 investigators at sacrament meeting which is the highest I have gotten on my whole mission! Ha ha. Sister Wilfreida was confirmed yesterday as well, she is now a full member! We will be having the baptisms of Brother Julias and Brother Epaphras on Sunday, so we are excited. the church is growing! I am happy to be a part of it. I love being a tool in the Lord's hand. You should try it..:) ha ha. We were also about to have MLC this week, it is short for Mission Leader Counsel. All the Zone Leader in Nairobi came and we discussed how to better help the missionaries in our zones, concerns etc. It was nice. We had KFC after which was tasty. We will be having Zone Meeting tomorrow so hopefully my companion and I will be able to help our zone understand the principles well. Days are going by super fast for me, like this week seemed like 3 days. I like it. I watched this movie called "God's Army" the other day. It is about missionaries. It is super powerful. You should check it out. I freaking got called "John" so many times this week. I don't know why though. I think it is the only name for a white guy they know. It sure is annoying haha! I was also able to play some basketball today. It was very refreshing. I miss that sport. All I have is soccer her and I played that today as well. I got kicked in the head. I think I have a concussion but it's all good.
I was reading in 1 Corinthians 13 about the crucifixion of Paul this week. That is something that has always intrigued me. Rumor has it that he was crucified upside down because he didn't feel worthy to be crucified in the same manner that his Savior was. THAT, ladies and gentlemen, is conversion. It is interesting to me how much persecution and hatred the primitive Church of Jesus Christ faces, after all those miracles, healing, etc that Christ performed. I had bee thinking about that a lot this week. One of our investigators was telling us that she "can NEVER join the church" We asked her why, she replied "Because I have heard so many bad things and so much persecution" I said to her "that is true. There is a lot of persecution and bad rumors, but isn't that just more evidence that this is the The Church of Jesus Christ" Well, she thought about that a bit, we explained to her that Christ's Church in the olden days faced the same thing. She sat there thinking and pondering for maybe 2 minutes and she replied " I will never join your church" She is no longer our investigator. Sad for her, yes, however my testimony was increased a lot by that lesson. Simply my own realization that there is so much persecution, rumors, accusation etc against the church but that truly is just more synonymous evidence that this the Church of Jesus Christ. I love it! I love it so much.
