Dear 6th ward: (December 12th, 2015)

Merry Christmas Spanish Fork 6th ward friends and family!  I hope you have a happy new year as well.  I decided I would write you all a letter and thank you for all of the support you have given me throughout the years.  This time of year I feel especially grateful for the influence that all of you had on me throughout my childhood and young adult life, it sure paid off!  The purpose of this letter is to say thank you, I love you and to help you feel the Spirit.

I don't want to write to you today about Christmas, although I am tempted to do so.  I don't want to inform you about the "True Meaning of Christmas" either, because the church already released a video about that, if you haven't seen it, buy a smart phone and you'll come across it.  I am sure.  I do, however want to write to you about the true meaning of the true meaning of Christmas.

As I sit in the Kenya Nairobi Mission Office and type you this letter, I stare at a picture of the Christus statue in the visitors center at Temple Square, and a multitude of thoughts and words about the Savior and His Atonement dash about my mind.  I am thankful for it, I love it and I love celebrating it.  The true meaning of Christmas is the Savior.  The true meaning of the true meaning of Christmas is his Atonement.  The purpose of the Atonement is not only to help us become clean, but it helps us to stay clean.  It not only forgives our sins, but it can prevent us from sinning.  The ultimate purpose of the Atonement is to make God's glory a reality, which is to "bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man."  My testimony is simple but sure.  He will help us, He will lift us, He will succor us, He will save us.  He is the Savior, Redeemer of our souls, whose almighty hand hath made me whole.  He can make you whole as well.

Merry Christmas!.  See you soon!  :)

Me:  I am having a tough time remembering Saturday is your pday
Justin:  Even me, because we hardly have a pday.  We are so busy.

Justin:  Did you send in some college applications?

Justin:  I miss Christmas.  20 days until we get to skype!  That is a good Christmas present for me.
I wrote Santa a letter that had Iphone 6 on it.  Just sayin:)   I am learning responsibility a lot, especially in the office.  I enjoy being held accountable.  I forget things sometimes but I am trying to become better and be responsible for everything.  I have learned a lot working so closely with President Hicken.

The other day he started reading out of handbook 2.  It was completely random and there was no reason for it.  He read the things to us about abortion and artificial insemination and birth control..things like that.  I had read them before, so I had an idea of the Church's policy on them but it was a good reminder.  The next day while in a lesson with one of our best investigators, she asked questions about those exact matters.  We were able to tell her the Church's exact stand of those things because it was fresh on our mind.  we don't study those things often but President was guided by God to remind us.  I know that man is called of God.

Write me!

We saw POPE FRANCIS!  I saw his face.  Literally saw his face.  He drove past our house.  Haha.  We live on State House road and he was heading to the state house.

I told Justin that my dad doesn't want me to travel to Kenya.  His response:
Kenya is completely safe.  There is a small chance that anything will happen.  I have not once felt in danger here.

Me:  Are there any missionaries from the USA coming to Kenya?
Justin: Yes, there is an elder named Elder lotulelei, but he won't come until Tuesday because of the Pope

Me: Did you get the pics;
Justin:  yeah I got all of them!  Kayden is huge.  Preciate the shoe game (ha ha)

Me:  Did you have Thanksgiving at all?
Justin:  The couple missionaries brought us a piece of pumpkin pie and some rolls .
